On 25 April the BGN bookshop chain will open its first smartstore – Selexyz Scheltema Almere. Selexyz is the name of BGN’s new sales format. One of the shop’s innovations is its use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), which optimises all aspects of the customer’s experience.

RFID test successfully concluded
Container Centralen (CC), pool operator of more than 3 million CC-containers, starts an RFID-test (UHF Class1, GEN2) on trolleys (for the flowerauction and distribution of parcels) and so called Danish trolleys. The test starts in March 2006 in several selected locations in the Netherlands and will take three months. If the results of the tests are positive, the implementation of the system will then be rolled out.
